Clients & Projects

We work with a range of established commercial, public sector, and professional organisations across Herefordshire, the Midlands, the Southwest and across the UK providing reliable tree surgery and professional arboricultural support. We also undertake works for private individuals, homeowners and landlords.

Our experience includes working alongside consultants, surveyors, utility providers, and local authorities on both operational sites and sensitive environments, where safety, compliance, and clear communication are essential.

We are proud to have provided arboricultural services for:

• Birch Utility Services – supporting utility and infrastructure works with specialist tree surgery and vegetation management for National Grid

• APEM Ltd – assisting environmental and ecological projects with professional tree works and advice for companies including Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and Severn Trent Water

• Powys County Council – undertaking safety and quality surveyance of trees across public land, including Ash Dieback surveys

• Wardell Armstrong and SLR Consulting – providing arboricultural input to support planning and consultancy projects including East West Rail

• Envolve Ltd – working as the site based tree works team, delivering clearance and removal services

• Godwin Powell Building Consultancy – delivering arboricultural support for property and development projects

• Malvern Hills Trust - undertaking tree removal and management works across public lands to ensure public safety

Our work for these clients typically includes a combination of practical tree surgery, site specific vegetation management, and arboricultural advice and consultancy to support planning, development, and ongoing land management.

We take pride in building long term working relationships and delivering high quality, dependable services that integrate smoothly into wider project teams.

Arboricultural Support for Major Utilities & Infrastructure Projects (UK)

We provide ongoing arboricultural consultancy and site support as a specialist subconsultant to APEM Ltd, contributing to large-scale infrastructure and utilities projects across the UK.

Through this relationship, we support schemes for major utility providers including Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW), SSE and Severn Trent Water, helping to facilitate the renewal and upgrade of essential water and energy infrastructure.

Across these projects, our role typically includes:

  • BS5837 tree surveys to assess existing tree stock and constraints

  • Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA) and method statements

  • Tree Protection Plans (TPPs) to guide construction activity

  • On-site supervision and watching briefs during sensitive works

We provide clear, practical recommendations to project teams, identifying where tree protection measures are required within Root Protection Areas (RPAs), where access constraints necessitate pruning or crown lifting, where removal is unavoidable, alongside appropriate compensatory planting strategies.

Working as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, we focus on supporting safe, efficient project delivery, balancing the needs of infrastructure works with the protection of existing trees and landscape features.

By combining technical arboricultural expertise with a strong understanding of infrastructure environments, we help ensure projects progress smoothly while remaining compliant with relevant standards and planning requirements.

Malvern Hills Trust – Tree Safety Works Across Public Open Space

We have delivered several standalone tree safety work packages on behalf of Malvern Hills Trust across publicly accessible sites within the Malvern Hills area.

Working in high-use locations where public safety is a key consideration, we were instructed to carry out targeted tree works based on prior assessments, addressing trees identified as presenting varying levels of risk.

Our role focused on the practical delivery of works, including:

  • Removal of deadwood to reduce immediate hazards

  • Selective pruning works where appropriate to improve safety and clearance

  • Removal of trees where condition and structural defects presented an unacceptable risk

All works were undertaken with consideration of the surrounding environment, ensuring that interventions were proportionate and aligned with the Trust’s wider approach to managing trees within a sensitive landscape.

Through these packages of work, we supported Malvern Hills Trust in maintaining safe, accessible public spaces, while delivering efficient, well-managed arboricultural operations on site.

Powys County Council – County-Wide Tree Safety & Ash Dieback Programme

We have been retained by Powys County Council to deliver ongoing arboricultural surveying as part of a county-wide programme focused on tree safety and the identification of Ash Dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus).

Working across a large and varied geographic area, we have undertaken extensive tree inspections along highways, public spaces and council-managed land. Surveys are carried out in line with relevant British Standards and incorporate QTRA methodology, ensuring a consistent and robust approach to risk assessment.

Our role includes:

  • Identifying and assessing trees affected by Ash Dieback

  • Recording tree condition, structural integrity and risk

  • Highlighting immediate and longer-term safety concerns

  • Providing clear data to inform management and prioritisation

All survey data is systematically recorded to support the Council’s wider strategy for monitoring and managing Ash Dieback across the county.

This ongoing programme provides Powys County Council with reliable, up-to-date information, enabling informed decision-making, targeted risk management, and improved public safety, while supporting long-term resilience of the county’s tree stock.

Utility Arboriculture – Network Resilience & Maintenance (Midlands UK)

We have delivered arboricultural surveying and specialist tree works as a subcontractor to Birch Utility Services, supporting the ongoing maintenance and resilience of electricity infrastructure across the Midlands for National Grid.

Working in proximity to live overhead lines and associated utility infrastructure, our role includes both vegetation surveying and practical tree works, ensuring required clearances are maintained safely and efficiently.

Our work typically includes:

  • LV and HV span surveying, identifying trees in proximity to overhead lines

  • Assessment of growth patterns and potential conflicts with utility assets

  • Utility arboriculture works, including pruning to specified clearance bands

  • Specialist operations near live infrastructure, delivered in line with strict safety protocols

  • Emergency call-out response, addressing storm damage or immediate risks to the network

All works are carried out with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and programme delivery, recognising the critical nature of maintaining uninterrupted utility services.

Through this work, we support the continued reliability of the network, helping to reduce the risk of outages, protect infrastructure, and enable effective long-term vegetation management across the region.
