Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Are you available for small, residential jobs?

Yes! We started out working with local residents to support them in managing their tree related problems, and we continue to provide this service. Contact us for a chat and free advice.

Are you sympathetic to rural development works?

We understand that developments are a key driver of economic growth and part of the Homes England Strategic Plan, and we support many of the underlying principles that have informed this. This doesn’t mean that we will support any and every proposed development.

Development is on the rise, and unfortunately alongside a great deal of ‘good development’ this does mean a growth in irresponsible development practices and poorly supervised sites in some cases which has given development a bad name.

The fact is that sympathetic, responsible development requires honest advice – if we have concerns around your development proposal, we will tell you. To avoid stop notices, enforcement action or fines, it is important to have the support of honest and objective arboricultural professionals.

Can you help me have the TPO removed from my tree?

There is no ‘guaranteed’ method of removing a TPO, but we can certainly evaluate the tree and work to have the TPO lifted if there is a legitimate reason for doing so. TPOs are an essential part of legislation to ensure the preservation of trees and the natural environment, but if you feel that your tree is wrongly assigned a TPO or if you have concerns about your tree, contact us. We can act as mediators with your Local Authority to help you to communicate your concerns to them and to unpick the jargon of TPO legislation so that you can better understand your position.

Can you chip and remove tree waste and arisings?

Yes. All arisings can be chipped and removed, leaving your site clean and tidy.

How much does it cost to hire you?

Each job is individually priced according to the time, expertise, man-power and risk involved. We know it would be nice to have a guaranteed ‘price list’, but that would be unfeasible with jobs being as variable as they are – each client is an individual with different requirements. However, we are happy to offer you a free quote and advice, we won’t push you to hire us and we will be honest and approachable throughout.

Are you fully insured and qualified?

Yes! Kevin and his contractors are fully NPTC qualified, with many years of industry experience. In addition to this, Kevin has studied to degree level with TreeLife, one of the foremost specialist training providers in the UK.

We are insured for damages up to £5,000,000, with professional indemnity and public liability included.

I don’t think I need a tree report, but my insurance company/mortgage provider say I do?

It can be frustrating, but if your mortgage provider or insurer say that you need a tree report – you probably do. We understand that this is an additional expense, and you may prefer to avoid it, but in the long term you can save yourself untold trouble by having a professional give your property the once over and generate a report of their findings. Each situation is unique, give us a call or an email and we will discuss your situation with you and do what we can to help you resolve your issue efficiently.
