CONSULTANCY, SURVEYANCE, MAINTENANCE

Kevin Bell

Kevin manages the consultancy, surveyance and maintenance aspects of the business, overseeing all things arboricultural.  He has 20 years experience in the arboricultural sector, having worked extensively within the UK, and having also practised internationally - mainly within New Zealand.

After beginning his career as a utility tree surgeon, he quickly realised that trees were a passion of his that extended beyond being ‘just a job’. In 2005, he travelled abroad and built on his experience in Auckland, maintaining municipal trees in an environment that was radically different to that of the UK. Eventually returning home to a wet Welsh winter, he made the decision to start a business that would allow him to use his skills and knowledge sympathetically and expand his practice. He began to work with residential clients, troubleshooting arboricultural problems and undertaking small and large scale maintenance works.

Over the course of his career, he has completed multiple professional NPTC training courses, underpinning his knowledge in utility, municipal and residential arboriculture. He has also graduated successfully from undertaking higher level study with TreeLife, one of the foremost specialist arboricultural educational institutions in the UK, and will be undertaking additional study with Myerscough College to achieve his BSc next year. He now predominantly works in consultancy and surveyance, working for clients from a range of industries from large-scale utilities such as National Grid, to local businesses, landowners and residents.

Kevin has undertaken further study in QTRA risk assessment and management, management and evaluation of subsidence, and professional tree inspection with LANTRA training specialists.

He believes in an honest, practical approach to his work. When he's not working, you can find him brewing his own beer or in his vegetable garden.

ADMINISTRATION, CUSTOMER LIAISON, PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Katherine Webb

Katherine manages administration, customer liaison and project planning within the business.

Katherine graduated in 2010 with a first-class honours degree in Fine Art. She has worked eclectically throughout her career, spending 10 years in the further education sector teaching Design - where organisational skills, diplomacy, and a sense of humour proved to be essential!

Never one to be at a loose end, she has balanced many projects alongside her work in education, overseeing landscaping and renovations, public communications, charity and community initiatives, and advocacy projects. She has also worked with her husband for many years building their business and managing the day to day running of their services.

In 2021 she decided that it was time to dedicate herself full time to the business, and left teaching to do just that. She is currently undertaking a Level 2 RFS Certificate in Arboriculture to underpin her work behind the scenes for the business.

She and Kevin have known each other since they were teenagers, but she does not hold that against him.

Rob Bell

Rob, Kevin’s father, has been in the arboricultural industry for more than 25 years.

Starting out in a hands-on role working for a small local business, he has built his experience from scratch and is passionate about all things arboriculture. Rob works hard to keep his knowledge current, and regularly undertakes additional training – most recently having undertaken a qualification in QTRA assessment. Rob is LANTRA PTI trained and will be enrolling at Myerscough College in 2024 to continue his studies.

Having worked for many years consulting and surveying for several large utility and commercial firms, as well as advising residential clients, Rob has seen the industry evolve and is able to apply his diverse knowledge and years-long real-life experience to consultation and surveying in a wide array of contexts. Always happy to ‘talk trees’, Rob is also knowledgeable on the Health and Safety aspects of arboricultural works and applies this knowledge to support us in maintaining our high standards.

When he isn’t working, Rob is a keen player of bowls, having competed to championship standards. He is also an accomplished cook and can often to be found with his wife, Mary, growing vegetables at their allotment.
